Soft-Switch for iPhone internal beta preview, with an illustrated phone and calls, contacts and team features.

We’re bringing the Soft-Switch experience to iPhone. Our iOS app is designed to put your business extension, company contacts and team information together in one familiar workspace.

Soft-Switch for iPhone is currently in internal beta testing. It is not yet available as a public App Store download. This first look explains what is in the current beta, who it is designed for and how to enquire about availability.

Explore the Soft-Switch for iPhone product page for an overview of the app and its current availability.

Your business extension on iPhone

For teams that split their time between the office, home and customer sites, a mobile app can make the company phone system easier to access. The aim of Soft-Switch for iPhone is to bring everyday business communications together without asking people to learn a completely different workspace when they change devices.

The app is being developed for use with a compatible Soft-Switch PBX account. It requires an iPhone running iOS 16 or later, with account settings supplied by your administrator.

What is in the current beta?

The beta brings together the core Soft-Switch tools. Features are still being tested with our phone system ahead of wider availability.

  • Business calling: a dial pad, call history and in-call controls for your business extension, with iPhone call-screen integration.
  • Team presence: find colleagues and view the presence information supplied by your organisation’s phone system.
  • Company contacts and voicemail: access your provisioned directory and voicemail from the same app.
  • QR code setup: load your extension settings using a provisioning QR code supplied by your administrator.

These features describe the current beta. The final appearance and behaviour may change as testing continues.

A familiar Soft-Switch experience

The iPhone app follows the same design direction as Soft-Switch for Android, with a familiar approach to calls, contacts and team information adapted for iOS. The goal is to make it easier for organisations with a mix of devices to introduce the app to their users.

If your team also uses other devices, you can explore Soft-Switch for Android and the Soft-Switch Windows app on their respective product pages. Availability and setup requirements differ between platforms.

What does internal beta testing mean?

The iPhone app is being tested internally through TestFlight. This is a development milestone, and a public App Store release has not been announced.

Call quality, headset behaviour and incoming calls while the app is closed still need verification before a wider rollout. Background incoming calling remains in development, so businesses should discuss their requirements with us before planning to use the iPhone app for day-to-day service.

Planning for your team

If you are interested in using Soft-Switch on iPhone, a useful starting point is to tell us which iPhone models and iOS versions your team uses, how many people need access, and where they usually take calls. Let us know whether Bluetooth headsets or incoming calls while the phone is locked are essential to your workflow.

We can discuss your existing Soft-Switch setup, the current testing stage and availability. There is no public download link or confirmed release date to share at this stage.
